On February 22, 2019, City staff and the City Manager met with HR&A Advisors and Here LA to kick off the process to develop a new 30-year strategic plan for the City, West Hollywood Vision 2050. This strategic plan will serve as an update to Vision 2020, which was prepared by the City in the early 2000s and established a set of principles that has guided the City’s actions ever since. Strategic plans such as this one focus broadly on issues affecting the daily lives of community members, examining trends, values, and goals most deserving of government attention and resources. The West Hollywood Vision 2050 planning process will be facilitated by HR&A and Here LA. They are tasked to help the City:
- Understand how the City has changed since our last strategic plan;
- Engage City staff and community members to determine a cohesive vision for the future of the City;
- Make recommendations about strategic goals and actions;
- Determine appropriate metrics for tracking progress towards those goals; and
- Prepare an accessible and straightforward plan to be shared by everyone in the City.
Although the plan to engage the community is still in development, we intend to connect with residents and community members in a variety of ways to get input on the future of our City. Expect to hear more in the coming months!
